One Word, One Voice, One Life
Suicide is preventable. In Connecticut, on average someone dies by suicide every day of the year. The CT Suicide Advisory Board created the One Word, One Voice, One Life – Be the One to start the Conversation awareness campaign to educate CT residents about suicide prevention. Anyone can reach out to someone in crisis and ask the question, “Are you thinking about killing yourself?” It is a myth that asking a person in crisis about suicide will make them think about suicide. Most people experiencing a suicidal crisis are relieved when someone asks the question. Asking the question can reduce the isolation a person in crisis feels and offers hope.
