Opiate Forum  “Painkiller Use to Opiate Abuse to Heroin Epidemic.”

Group-shot-2
You are cordially invited to join us for a free community forum, “Painkiller Use to Opiate Abuse to Heroin Epidemic.” The event will be held at the Westbrook Public Library on Monday, March 14 at 5:00 p.m. A panel of four experts will lead the discussion. Panelists include DMHAS Commissioner Delphin-Rittmon, State’s Attorney Peter McShane, State Trooper Wayne Buck, Dr. J. Craig Allen, MD, and from Aware Recovery Care, a young woman in recovery from opiate addiction. As a community, how can we reduce the supply of, and demand for, opiate drugs? How do we prevent people from abusing these drugs and falling prey to addiction? These questions and more will be considered. Audience participation is welcomed and encouraged!
MCSAAC staff members are experienced trainers. Pictured here is Mr. Lorenzo Marshall with a kit of plastic body parts displaying tobacco damage; a teaching tool for Don’t Be Owned: Your Health, Happiness, and Money Belong to You.
